Chancay Dolls, Peru

| /

These vintage dolls are 1970s recreations of pre-Columbian Chancay Dolls, made with ancient textile fragments. Embroidered faces and hands made from wood sticks wrapped in thread. The dolls are attached and have a scrap of cloth for hanging. Charming and decorative, they are from the estate of a former textiles curator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
